Anya is a writer and studio artist who has a variety of interests in sculpture, fiber arts, ceramics, bookmaking, drawing, and design. Their work focuses on their experiences as a queer neurodivergent artist and investigates how people use physical objects to understand their inner worlds and their place in society. They are specifically intrigued by bookmaking and the challenge of inviting the audience into the “space” of the work through both found materials and architectural elements.
Anya earned their BFA in Three-Dimensional Studies and English Literature from Messiah University in 2022 and is currently attending MICA’s Mt. Royal School of Art for their MFA in Multidisciplinary Art. When they’re not working on their various projects they are probably cooking Thai food, rewatching Star Trek for the twentieth time, or harassing their two beautiful cats.
